Hi, I am Miss Dent, the class teacher of Wrens. I joined Iveson Primary this September as Year Three class teacher and previously taught Year Three for a year. I am excited to be teaching at Iveson Primary and feel very privileged to be in Year Three. I am looking forward to the amazing learning journey the children will go on when transitioning from Key Stage One to Key Stage Two, and watching the children grow. I am an enthusiastic, passionate teacher who is committed to providing an exciting, engaging and challenging curriculum.
I began teaching at Iveson Primary in September 2018, as my NQT year. Originally from the Lake District, I worked as a teaching assistant in London before moving back to Cumbria to complete a PGCE. I am looking forward to teaching Year 3 Jays over the next year; enabling and challenging the pupils to achieve their full potential and enjoy their learning journeys. I have played piano since a young age so music and the arts are a huge personal interest.
I began working at Iveson Primary School in September 2013.
I have worked in schools for 12 years, either as refugee councillor, learning mentor, year 7 form tutor, and unqualified teacher in secondary schools. After having my twin girls in 2009 I began to work with primary aged children as an HLTA in an autism unit, and in year 3 at St Margaret’s primary school. I then trained to be a teacher at Meanwood primary school in 2011, and spent my NQT year at Armley Primary school, moving to Iveson in 2013.
