Meet our teachers:

Miss Armitage
Miss ArmitageTeacher
My name is Miss Armitage and I’m really excited to join the Iveson team this year. I have previously taught in Year 6 and love it due to the topics we study. I am particularly looking forward to our residential and studying the Ancient Greeks.

Mrs Tarrant
Mrs TarrantTeaching Assistant
Hi, my name is Mrs Tarrant and I work in KS2. I work with different groups of children, helping them to become more independent learners. I am also delivering a new maths program which is funded by Nottingham University. It is very rewarding seeing the children progress and reach their goals.
Mrs Rhodes
Mrs RhodesHLTA
I am a HLTA and teach all classes throughout the school. I really enjoy the diversity of this role and love that it gives me the opportunity to form relationships with all the children in school. I also provide pastoral care in school. I am very passionate about this and love seeing how this time with children can enable them to reach their full potential.

Please ensure that your child has everything they will need for school and that everything they have has a clear name label in it.  We often have a handful of jumpers that all look the same and don’t have a name in them – this is very important.

These are given every Friday and tests are on Monday and Friday the following week to check for progress. The spelling rule is always written underneath the spellings and taught on a Monday so children are learning why words are spelt in a particular way.

Planners and reading books need to be in school every day. Please can you use the home side to record when you have listened to your child read. We encourage children to read at least 3 times a week, in order to support their reading development in school.
Every day the children will change their books themselves this year and this will be done as they finish each one. This will be your child’s responsibility, but the planner needs to be signed to say that the book has been finished.

Children will be asked to complete a piece of writing each week so they can showcase the learning that has taken place that week. The story starter will highlight the spelling, punctuation and grammar expected to be included in the writing. This is to be completed to a high level so that children can demonstrate their creativity and understanding of English.

Curriculum Homework will be sent home each Friday to be returned in two weeks. Children are told when return dates are and it is sometimes specified on the homework itself.

Maths homework will be set each Friday to be returned the following Wednesday. This will be based on what they have been taught and will be explained prior to being sent home.

If you have any queries or questions about your child’s learning or well being, please speak to the class teacher or for a longer appointment, please speak to the office to arrange a convenient time. We are always happy to help.

Got any questions?

Please don’t hesitate to speak to myself  about any problems or worries, no matter how big or small, I’m always happy to help. Or write a note in your child’s planner and I’ll reply.
